Design a 3D Software Box - page 2

BoxShot
Map the front and side artwork to a box – start Gimp

Step 1
Start Gimp and open the front and side views you saved from Inkscape.

Step 2
Select the Gimp Window for the front view graphics.

Select Menu - Filters > Map > Map Object.
  - Options tab - from the drop down list select Map to Box.
  - Box tab - select the images for the box faces.
  - Orientation Tab - change the rotation z value to -20.

  Click OK - Gimp will render the image.

You will find a number of good InkScape screencast tutorials at screencasters.heathenx.org. These will help you to design good looking graphics for web sites posters etc.

This article is not intended as a tutorial for Inkscape or Gimp only as a general guide of the steps required to complete this task.

You can download the 3D box template for Inkscape from here , modify and use as you like.
